Selva Coragem
“Jungle Courage” is a project built with the community, using plants lent to us by locals. The entire local population can contribute to this installation, by lending us various different types of plants. This “green and living matter” – filled with memories and the meanings that each person attributes to the plants they care for – will form the basis for creating a large-scale plant and sound installation, a “small collaborative jungle”, which will harbour different spaces to occupy, listen, converse or contemplate. At the end of the project, the plants will return to their homes with new memories, in the perspective of another future, in which the plant world and the human world are not so far apart.

Plant reception
The plants must be delivered to the Casa da Memória, but they can also be collected from the homes of their caregivers. All the plants will be correctly identified and cared for during the project and, at the end, will be returned to their owners.

“Seiva” edition presentation session
The “Jungle Courage” project also includes “Seiva” - an author’s publication that maps human and plant participants and then draws a map of potential pedestrian walks through the territory of Guimarães.
